either immediately or after an adjournment not exceed- ing seven days, as the President of the Club (or other the Chairman of the meeting) directs; and the result of the poll as declared by the Chairman shall be deemed to be the resolution of the meeting at which the poll is demanded.

57. Members and persons having the special per- mission of the General Committee shall alone be permitted to compete for any cups, prizes or stakes presented or awarded by the Club or by private

persons.

58. Every special resolution passed at a General Meeting must be carried by a majority of not less than three-fourths of the Members present and entitled to vote, and must be confirmed by a majority of the Members present and entitled to vote at a subsequent Extraordinary General Meeting, of which notice has been duly given, and held at an interval of not less than fourteen clear days nor more than one month from the date of the meeting at which such resolution was first passed. During the interval, such resolution, with the notice convening the meeting, shall be posted in a conspicuous place in the office of the Secretary for the information of Members who may not have attended the first meeting and may wish to vote at the second. All resolutions duly passed and confirmed at any General (or Extraordinary) Meeting shall be binding on all the Members, Honorary Members and visitors of the Club.

59. All General Meetings shall be called either by circular posted and addressed to the Members or through the medium of an advertisement in one of the local papers, giving at least seven clear days' notice of the meeting.
